About I.P.E.S.K.

The I.P.E.S.K. is going to be the first print exchange based in South Korea with hopes of gathering an international collection of printmakers together to share, network and exhibit work.

The theme for the 2011 exchange will be "divided." Artists are to create work related to this theme. As with most themed exhibitions and exchanges, sticking to the theme is not strictly enforced, but is encouraged for the continuity and sophistication of the collection as a whole.

How to Participate: (closed for 2011)

Artists are to send an edition of 15 prints, using traditional (non-digital/photographic) printmaking techniques. Each of the prints sent must be identical to the others. Each artist will get 13 random mixed prints in return. Two prints from each edition will be held by I.P.E.S.K. to be exhibited in at least one gallery in Seoul, South Korea in the spring of 2011.
An online gallery will also be created with a list of participating artists and images of all the work.

Payment

Payment can be made via a Paypal. A US$ 30 participation fee is required to enter the exchange. This will cover return shipping, curation of exhibits and opening reception expenses.

For those in Korea, a wire transfer will be more convenient.

I.P.E.S.K. 는 대한민국에서 최초로 진행되는 판화 교환 행사로 전 세계의 판화가들이 서로의 작품을 공유하고 네트워크를 만들면서 함께 전시를 진행하고자 하는 목적으로 시작되었습니다.

2011년 판화 교환의 테마는 “divided”입니다. 작가들은 이번 테마에 맞는 작품을 만들면 됩니다. 다른 대부분의 전시나 교환행사와 마찬가지로, 테마에 엄격하게 맞출 필요는 없지만 컬렉션의 전체적인 연속성과 세련미를 위해서 가능한 테마를 염두에 두시기를 권장합니다.

참가방법:
작가들은 판화 15점(디지털기기, 혹은 사진을 사용하지 않은 전통적 기법의 판화)을 제출해야 합니다. 모든 판화는 같은 작품을 찍은 것이어야 합니다. 개별 작가는 본 교환행사에 참가한 다른 작가가 만든 13개의 판화를 무작위로 받게 됩니다. 나머지 두 점의 판화는 I.P.E.S.K. 에서 보관하면서 서울 내 한 곳 이상의 갤러리에서 2011년 봄에 진행될 전시에 사용됩니다.
제출한 작품은 본 행사에 참가한 모든 작가들의 정보와 함께 온라인 갤러리에 이미지로 전시됩니다.

참가비는 Paypal 사이트 혹은 무통장입금(현재 한국에 있는 신청자만 가능)으로 지불되어야 합니다. Paypal 계좌는 추후에 개설될 것입니다. 본 행사에 참가하기 위해서는 미화 30달러를 지불해야 합니다. 참가비는 운송비, 전시를 위한 비용 그리고 전시 오프닝에 사용됩니다.
